Yasuhiro Otani is an internationally recognized sound artist, electroacoustic composer, and improviser who has worked with many artists and composers around the world. His style (focused on the man-machine interaction in live performance and improvisation) is unique. It is about challenging himself to try and create sound and visuals, and to push the use of technology in a live performance to the limit. His work is developing to include collaborations with film, theater, and dance. Yasuhiro Otani is also the recipient of grants from the Rockefeller Foundation and the foundation for Performance Arts.

Christof Steinmann, aka Softland (*1972, Luzern, CH) lives and works in Zurich as a sound artist.
Alongside releases on the Spezialmaterial label collective and musical performances, his work comprises installation work and cooperations with musicians as well as choreographers and visual artists.
Softland is his musical solo project with a determined do-it-yourself mentality. The stylistic bandwith of the tracks spans from lo-fi popsongs to bewildering soundscapes that unexpectedly morph into intricately arranged electronica-tracks in full cinemascope format. All share a tendency towards eclecticism, unusual timbres and an almost outrageous combination of stylistic influences. The pieces combine acoustic instruments with field recordings and synthetic sounds from analogue sources and digital processing. The result retains pop and club culture as core reference points while at times stretching the boundaries of these genres beyond recognition.
